The Latin roots of modern English words is hardly the usual jumping off point for a collaboration between a fixture of individualistic, subculture fashion and a rising young artist, but Vans have hardly concerned themselves with the usual way.

This slice of classical language arts comes courtesy of multi-disciplinary arist Julian Klincewicz, who has paired up with Vault by Vans on a collection of footwear and graphic tees that celebrates human connection though compassion, community and communication.   

These pillars of meaningful living are the central theme across three different colorways of the Bold Ni, a silhouette from Vans’ New Issues project, which reinterprets archival classics with a modern outlook. The streamlined look, wider side stripe and upgraded comfort of UltraCush insoles are outfitted with premium suede and leather uppers, featuring hand scrawled text and sketches of hearts, stars and flowers across the tongue of each shoe.

The collection’s graphic tees present the themes of compassion, community and communication with original, photographic artwork.
